Voter Eligibility Requirements

To vote in the Special Election, one must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in the City of Eddyville in Wapello County, and be 18 years of age on or before election day. 

Dates

Absentee ballots

Available starting December 21, 2022 for the January 10,
2023 Special Election for the City of Eddyville.

In-person absentee voting

Begin on December 21, 2022, and end on January 9, 2023.

Deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed

Voters that want an absentee ballot mailed to them must submit a written
absentee ballot request by December 26, 2022 by 5 p.m. to the Wapello County
Auditor’s Office.

Return a voted absentee ballot

The deadline to return a voted absentee ballot is Election Day by 8:00 pm in the
Wapello County Auditor’s Office. POSTMARKS DON’T COUNT.

Voter Pre-Registration Deadline

December 26, 2022, by 5 p.m.

Pre-Registered Voters, Voters who are registering on Election Day, Pending Voters and Voters Changing Precincts on election day will need to prove identity and residency by using one or more of the forms below.
